Tess Darling's creative pastime developed into a career when she attended the University of North Carolina at Asheville from 2008-2013. She sacrificed an 11-year competitive tennis vocation to pursue her Bachelor in Fine Arts. In 2015, Tess took a road trip around the American Southwest, which inspired her current series Fauna. Her paintings portray wildlife photographed from State and National Parks, and more recently, Oahu. She retains an abstract modality combined with a representational feel, creating sketch-like works in ink and acrylic. Tess currently lives full time in a 1975 Avion LaGrande camper in order to pair down her material possessions and surround herself with the environment that inspires her.
