Artist and Graphic Designer Marla Solomon Katz’s passion for ceramics started with a high school art class ceramics lesson.  After receiving a BFA in Graphic Design from the University of Georgia, she worked as a Graphic Designer which included building point of purchase prototypes for a finishing company. Her interest in ceramics took off again after taking studio classes while home with her young children.

A resident of Sarasota, Florida, Katz and her husband’s love of Asheville and it’s vibrant art scene brought them to the area part-time. Katz combines intricate hand built designs with clean, simple lines thrown on the wheel to create unique sculptures.
